Sharon Rende Au D
Dr. Sharon Rende has been a leader and pioneer in Audiology in New York’s Capital District for over the last 15 years.
Dr. Sharon Rende graduated from West Virginia University in 1982 with a BA in Speech Pathology and Audiology. She continued her studies at Ohio University where she earned her Master’s degree in Audiology in 1984 and recently received her Audiology Doctorate.
Dr. Sharon Rende has served as the president and vice president of New York’s Capital Area Speech Language Hearing Association. Dr. Sharon Rende belongs to the Hearing Loss Association of Albany (HLAA), the Educational Audiology Association, the American Auditory Society, the Society for Ear, Nose & Throat Advances in Children (SENTAC) and the American Tinnitus Association. Since 1985, Dr. Sharon Rende has been a very active member of the New York State Speech Language Hearing Association (NYSSLHA) in many roles including Legislative Chairperson, Continuing Education Chairperson, Chair at the New York State Convention and Association Editor of their newsletter.
Dr. Sharon Rende’s professional recognition includes 4 Ace Awards from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA), Outstanding Leadership and Distinguished Service Awards from the New York State Speech Language Hearing Association and the titles of Fellow and Scholar of the American Academy of Audiology.
Dr. Sharon Rende currently serves as the Director of Audiology at the Capital Region Ear Institute of New York where she has established a full diagnostic audiology program including Auditory Brainstem Response and ENG testing, as well as the adult and pediatric Cochlear Implant and Implantable Technology Program. Dr. Sharon Rende offers care for patients from all of New York’s Capital Region, Bennington County, VT and the Berkshires of MA.
